It seems we have ourselves a bit of a revolution on the horizon, and i'm all for it. Many feds allow the clashing of Men and Women in their matches, and to be honest, I'm all for it, but my fellow admins have either been indifferent or against the idea. This is my solution: I put it to the people. We vote, yes or no, and the majority will rule. This is e-fedding, not a real product, and having a division of sexes is not a marketing or moral choice, but just a sexist glass ceiling. Let's hear....er....read your ideas!

Well, since I wrote my response under the wrong thread, I'll post it here too!

Well I agree with Buzzsaw as far as "hey lets all create new wrestlers so we can have more matches just for the sake of saying we have female characters". However, I do think if we have at least 4 normal female characters (valet's, women RPers, etc) then I'm for it..there are several ways to inject them into the fed and have it move seemlessly rather than trying to have a bit of affirmative action.

As for matches that involve a female taking on a guy, I'm all for that, I think it's cool..women and others get discriminated against every day in the real world and TOLD what they are and aren't capable of, and in real life, there may be a bit of a physical disadvantage at times...but this isn't real life. It's an efed where 90% of us are writing characters that do stuff that NONE of us will ever be able to, or even dream of doing...not fair to say "we can dream big here, but you're stuck with the restraints of the prejudice real world..."

Christ, this thing finally let me register. Anyway....

This started because of my protestations. As clarification and introduction, my real name is Laura and I used to be in the same fed as SNA, CJ, Weezle, and Reid called the CEW. I promoed there for 9 years and my character was the only female in the group. Being that that was the case, there was no "women's division" and my character went up in matches against the main eventers and it was never strange and it never ruined the suspension of disbelief involved in playing games like this.

My point is this: I get that realistically speaking, someone of the build of Stacey Keibler is not going to wrestle someone like HHH on TV and win. That silly and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But in a game-playing universe where one gets to create characters that stay perpetually between the ages of 25-28 and can say and do things their real handlers wouldn't and don't, I do not feel that having a woman wrestle a man is a strange concept. After all, I created the character of Cassandra Avery 9 years ago and if I say I created her with the idea being that she could absolutely wrestle heavy weights and win, who is anyone else to say that I can't be right?

And since this is a game based on, essentially, creative writing...well, I've been doing that for well over nine years and if that doesn't make me someone who can stand up with the heavyweights I don't know what does. Shirking characters like mine off into the "women's division" is a ridiculous way of preserving real world separation in a game that is based on the prevalence of fantasy and I wouldn't agree to something like that.

Woman or man......if you can promo like a champ, you should get the chance to be one. smile

Beyond you. Utterly.

I suppose even in "real" wrestling, you could argue that not allowing intergender competition doesn't make an awful lot of sense when contests like Rey Mysterio (5'6", 175lbs) vs. Big Show (7'0", 485lbs) are served up fairly regularly (particularly in cases involving the Big Show, where the much-smaller opponent invariably gets the win!)...

The masses have spoken. As it is told, so it shall be... and other such shit

Well done guys, you have made your first decision as a group to help with how we are set up and run

As was noted before, staff maintain the right, naturally, to make changes to the fed in any way we think would benifit you but it has felt really good to leave a decision (the first of many hopefully) to you, the roster, and to have that decision made so quickly and easily. It is a testament to how the group is gelling together, new and old alike

So from the BoD a thankyou to all.... boys AND girls...

Oh and Ruth, you can delete Jun and Mark now and bring in Ruth.... i know you want to smile

Wecome to the empire... and equal oppertunities federation!

BoD

As long as realism is maintained (even big men doing 450s and the stuff I've seen in other promotions) I am fine with it. Yes Rey has faced Big Show and other big men for years as well. Also I point to CHIKARA which is where I really say does it the best. The Allison Dangers, Daizee Hazes and Sara Del Rays of the world have done it for some time. So yes, I am all in favor of it.
