???: “So here we are again.”

The first voice: male.

???: “One more time. “

The second voice: female.

???: Just like old times, sugarbear.”

???: “That it is, girl…”

The man steps out of the shadows, revealing himself to be none other than “The War Machine” Akeem Edwards. A huge mountain of a man, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 325lbs. On the other side of the room, Katterina Wylde. Known throughout the globe as “The Dark Angel”, she emerged from the darkness and stopped Akeem dead in his tracks as he eyeballed the leatherclad gothic beauty before him. She looked at him in his ensemble of a wifebeater, jeans and Timberlands and just chuckled.

Katterina Wylde: “How the hell are we even friends?”

Akeem Edwards: “Beats me.”

Katterina Wylde: “We’re like oil and water.”

Akeem Edwards: “Chalk and Cheese.”

Katterina Wylde: “But here we are.”

Akeem Edwards: “Together as one.”

Katterina Wylde: “Same goals.”

Akeem Edwards: “Same dreams.”

Katterina Wylde: “Same need to kick ass.”

Akeem Edwards: “And chew bubblegum.”

Katterina Wylde: “Shit.”

Akeem Edwards: “What?”

Katterina Wylde: “I’m all outta bubblegum.”

Akeem pauses before he says another word and lets out a hearty belly laugh. Katterina appears confused at first, but then begins to chuckle herself.

Akeem Edwards: “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

Katterina Wylde: “Agreed.”

And with that, the pair fade back into the shadows.

Akeem Edwards is hitting the weights hard, trying to maintain his muscular physique. As he is ready to make an attempt at bench pressing 500lbs, Jess Starr appears with a cameraman. He spots them in the corner of his eye and at first appears agitated, but the woman’s pleasant demeanour quells his frustration over being distracted from his workout. He sits up as she approaches and has a wide grin on his face.

Akeem Edwards: “To what to do I owe this pleasure? Wait…you’re Jess Starr. EWA’s rookie interviewer, right?”

Jess Starr: “You would be correct, Mr. Edwards.”

Akeem Edwards: “Please, call me Akeem.”

Jess Starr: “You’re awfully cool and calm for someone known as ‘The War Machine’.”

Akeem Edwards: “This is my down time. It’s only in that ring that the true ‘War Machine’ comes to life and runs roughshod through fools who think they’re bad enough to step to me.”

Jess Starr: So I assume that you are okay with doing a little interview with me…?”

Akeem lets a smirk creep across his face as he looks at the woman before him.

Akeem Edwards: “Of course, Miss Starr.”

Jess Starr: “Please…call me Jess.”

Akeem rises up and stands next to Jess as her cameraman counts them down. Jess quickly checks herself in a pocket mirror and applies some blusher. As the cameraman finishes his count, he switches the camera on to begin recording as Jess brings the mic up to her lips.

Jess Starr: “This is Jess Star and I am standing her with none other than “The War Machine” Akeem Edwards, who along with his partner “The Dark Angel” Katterina Wylde, form the formidable and world-renowned tag team known as The Wreckers. But my first question, Akeem…is why have you come to the EWA?”

Akeem Edwards: “We’ve come here for many reasons. Firstly, is because the fans lit up the internet like wildfire demanding we be hired by this company. They’re the main reason we are here. The second, is because like what happened at Shatterpoint, we’re all about making an impact. And where better than the best promotion in the entire world to make such an impact and I think we did a pretty damn good job of making said impact and making a statement. And after making that statement, we were given a very generous reward.”

Jess Starr: “Yes, you and Katterina are involved in the huge Tag Team Championship match at Retaliation against both The Hometown Heroes and The Sons of Ohio.”

Akeem Edwards: “And they might be formidable tag teams in their own right, but they are not The Wreckers. We’ve come from nothing in this world, nevermind this business, to get to where we are and we ain't about to be stopped by anyone. We respect the Hometown Heroes, but that doesn’t mean we won’t smash their skulls in and take those titles. And after what happened last week, we would both love to get our hands on Clayton and Newsome one more time and put the finishing touches on their sorry behinds. You see...”

Jess cuts him off immediately.

Jess Starr:: “I apologise for interrupting, but where is Katterina? I mean you are a tag team. Shouldn’t you be working out and getting prepared for this big match…you know, together?”

“The War Machine” just shrugs his massive shoulder.

Akeem Edwards: “She does her own thing, and I’m cool with it. When it comes down to us getting in that ring and competing we are a well-oiled machine, pardon the pun. We have the same ideals, we just approach our craft differently. She hates being interviewed, so she’d probably take a severe disliking to you. Don’t take it personally, as her heart’s in the right place. At least…I think it is.”

Jess Starr: “What does that mean?”

Akeem Edwards: “Well…actually, forget I said anything. Best to leave that Pandora’s Box closed for now. Besides, uh…I have to bounce. You have one more question.”

Though she is somewhat curious by Akeem’s eagerness to change the subject, Jess has a pondering look in her eyes as she thinks about her final question.

Jess Starr: “What does the future hold for The Wreckers here in EWA?”

Akeem Edwards: “All I see is gold, baby…all I see is gold…”

With that he flashes a smile, puts on a pair of shades and walks away, slapping Jess on the ass as he does so. Her cheeks redden with embarrassment as the gym door closes behind Akeem, who gets into his black Dodge Viper and speeds off, heading…well, who knows where?

Date: 14th June 2011
Time: 2:30am
Location: The rooftop of an unknown building
Subject: “The Dark Angel” Katterina Wylde

Ryan Lewis had received a tip that Katterina Wylde was brooding on a rooftop within the city by a keen-eyed fan who had spotted her, and so Lewis dared make his presence known to her in the hopes of snagging an interview with the newcomer to the EWA. After climbing the stairs of the building until they reached the very top, dragging a cameraman wielding a hand-held with him, Ryan could feel a presence on the roof of this eerie building. On each corner of the roof were statues of gargoyles. This was a very sinister-looking building indeed, and though he was nervous, he vowed to get this scoop.

But then he spotted her. She was sitting there, not moving. Her legs were crossed, which must’ve been a pain as she is wearing skin-tight black PVC jeans. He looks at her outfit. Her knee-high black leather boots glisten in the moonlight, and her t-shirt has a Heartagram synonymous with the band HIM, and she is wearing a long black leather coat. Her eyes are closed and she is in deep meditation. Lewis nudges close to her quietly, trying to and successfully making no noise at all. His cameraman does the same with similar success, but still…

Katterina Wylde: “Do you honestly think I am deaf?”

She opens her eyes, revealing her beautiful amber eyes. She turns to Lewis, who has a nervous look in his eyes.

Katterina Wylde: “Let me guess…you wish to discuss the Tag Team Championship Match at Retaliation, correct?”

Ryan Lewis: “Y…yes.”

He clears his throat and makes a bad attempt at sounding confident.

Ryan Lewis: “Er, I mean…I…I would, yes.”

Katterina Wylde: “You have 3 questions. Make them good.”

Ryan Lewis: “W-well, you and Akeem burst onto the scene and made an impact here in the EWA by standing up to the heinous actions of Ryan Newsome and Dennis Clayton, as they have seemingly removed Jace Champion and Brian Blaze from active competition. But they are not…”

Katterina Wylde: “Yawn…bored now. Make these questions short and concise, or I’ll throw you off the roof. Start over.”

Ryan Lewis: “I…okay. Short and concise…let’s see…”

Katterina Wylde: “Tick-tock…tick-tock…”

Ryan Lewis: “Okay. So you and Akeem made an impact here in the EWA with your actions of last week, but why did you step in when you did?”

Katterina just scoffs at his question.

Katterina Wylde: “Because we could. It’s unfortunate what happened to Champion and Blaze, but let’s be real…one day they will no doubt return, and when they do, The Sons of Ohio are in trouble…but we saw our opportunity to make our presence felt and we took it, and I think we did a pretty good job, didn’t we?”

Ryan Lewis: “Well, yes you did.”

Katterina Wylde: “Next question, fool.”

Ryan: “What about the Hometown Heroes?”

Katterina Wylde: “Ah yes, The Hometown Heroes. They are a great team from what I have seen thus far. It will be a pleasure stepping in the ring with them…but when the gold is on the line. I’m sorry, boys…but, wrong place and wrong time. The Wreckers aren’t going to settle for second best, but I assume you would expect nothing less. Nor do we expect any less from you. Make no mistake, this will be a war.”

There’s an awkward pause as Lewis fumbles through his list of questions.

Katterina Wylde: “Hurry up so I can get back to doing what I was doing before you showed up and decided to piss me off.”

Ryan Lewis: “What does the future hold for the Wreckers in…”

Katterina Wylde: “I saw Akeem’s interview with Jess Starr. She asked that same question, you unoriginal douchebag.”

Ryan Lewis: “I…I…”

Katterina Wylde: “Interview over.”

She gets to her feet and sneers at Lewis. He backs away nervously, as despite her slender frame, she is in his mind quite intimidating.

Katterina Wylde: “Now you have two choices: You can either get thrown off the roof and go splat-bye-bye-die-now…or you can take the stairs.”

Ryan Lewis: “Uh…we’ll take the stairs.”

[Camera cuts]

When the camera returns, we see Katterina throwing Ryan Lewis down the flight of stairs. She looks at him as he is sprawled on the bottom step and chuckles. The cameraman opted to stand at the bottom of the stairs as…well, he was finding this highly amusing.

Ryan Lewis: “I’m…I’m okay…”

Katterina Wylde: “Good…now you can walk yourself into getting the fuck out of my sight.”

She turns and walks back through the door and back onto the rooftop. Akeem Edwards is there all of a sudden.

Katterina Wylde: “How did you…?”

Akeem: “Fire escape. You’re an evil bitch, you know that?”

Katterina Wylde: “I try.”

Akeem: “You ready for this?”

Katterina Wylde: “As I’ll ever be.”

Akeem: “Wreck ‘N Rule.”

He hold out his fist.

Katterina Wylde: “Wreck ‘N Rule.”

They bump fists before heading back inside the building together, and as they walk down the stairs, they step over the fallen form of Ryan Lewis who is till having problems getting to his feet.

Katterina Wylde: “Seriously, they need to do something about the littering problem in this building.”

Akeem Edwards: “Your jokes still suck, Katt.”

End
