| Sit down interview with Pro Wrestling Weekly
FADE IN
-Scene opens inside a plush hotel room in New York City, Lisa Taylor is setting up her tape recorder as her camera man Doug Neil looks through the lens to make sure both seats can be seen in the shot.-
Doug Neil: “He’s late!”
Lisa Taylor: “Are you surprised?”
Doug Neil: “Honestly, no, I still don’t get why we are doing this interview.”
Lisa Taylor: “Because our boss has a hard on for this kid.”
Doug Neil: “Come on there has to be more to it that that.”
Lisa Taylor: “He likes the story what do you want me to say, this kid was on the fast tract to stardom and then couldn’t find a job, the more digging he did the more questions came up.”
Doug Neil: “Come on, it’s simple, he’s a dick.”
Lisa Taylor: “That might be the case but there are a ton of dicks in this business, what makes him any different?”
Doug Neil: “He’s a punk, he feels like he’s entitled, promoters don’t want to deal with that and the fact remains everybody that has worked with this kid has nothing but negative things to say about him.”
Lisa Taylor: “Oh, I know that, and I’m ready for this, he thinks this is going to be a little puff piece, that we are just going to stroke his ego here, no sir, Xavier Reid wants his name in print, fine, but all publicity isn’t always good publicity and he’s going to find that out the hard way.”
Doug Neil: “Yeah, well if he ever shows up.”
-Doug looks at his watch.-
Doug Neil: Half and hour late, how long are we going to give him? At this rate there is no way I’m making it home for dinner, the Triborough Bridge is going to be murder.”
Lisa Taylor: “I’m not leaving, he’ll show, his ego won’t let him not promote himself, he got what he wanted this week, a shot at a contract in the EWA, Xavier Reid is going to be on cloud nine and I want to be the one that brings him down to earth.”
-There is a knock at the door and both Lisa and Doug look at the clock and then at each other.-
Doug Neil: “It’s about time.”
Doug walks to the door and opens is, with being asked inside Xavier Reid walks right past Doug as if he was a door man, he looks around the room and lowers his sun glasses.-
Xavier Reid: “What, nobody is going to offer me something to drink?”
Doug Neil: “We would have if you were on time.”
Xavier Reid: “Excuse me?”
Lisa Taylor: “Of course, water or a soda?”
Xavier Reid: “A water will be fine sweetie.”
-Lisa walks over to the bar and Xavier locks on her ass as she walks away from him, Doug grits his teeth but doesn’t say anything, Lisa grabs a bottle of water and turns to see Xavier’s eyes whip up, she tosses the bottle of water at him.-
Lisa Taylor: “You like what you see there Xavier?”
Xavier Reid: “I’ve seen better, but for a woman your age not bad at all, you would do in a pinch or if I was looking to slump bust.”
Doug Neil: “Watch is kid.”
-Xavier looks around to see Doug’s face red with anger.-
Xavier Reid: “Did I hit a nerve there? Is there something going on between the two of you, is that why you are giving me the skink eye?”
Doug Neil: “I’m married asshole!”
Xavier Reid: “So, like that has stopped people before, you have to find women who know how to keep their mouths shut, well not always if you know what I mean.”
Lisa Taylor: “Can we get this going, since you were late neither of us will be making it home for dinner tonight, so we want to thank you for that.”
Xavier Reid: “Hey superstars don’t live their lives by a watch, we are on our own time.”
Lisa Taylor: “Yeah will superstar that half and hour is coming out of your time so you better talk fast.”
Doug Neil: “I’m ready, we’re rolling.”
Lisa Taylor: “For the second week in a row you showed up unannounced at EWA’s Shatter Point and left yet another EWA star in your wake.”
Xavier Reid: “You are speaking of Buck Evans?”
Lisa Taylor: “Yes and Spike before that, do you really think that’s the best way to go about getting a EWA contract?”
Xavier Reid: “What I did to Spike two weeks ago was in the heat of a match, I hit X-Marks the Spot from the balcony, it was a top ten highlight in that company and won me the EWA Underground Title, sure it put Spike on the shelf but that’s the price you pay when you enter that kind of match.”
Lisa Taylor: “Ok, but what about your attack on Buck Evans, that wasn’t in the heat of a match that was cold blooded assault!”
Xavier Reid: “Oh poor Buck Evans, little old Xavier Reid assaulted the big bad International Champion, get over it!”
Lisa Taylor: “He didn’t do anything to you Xavier, in fact he was in the middle of an interview when you stuck your noise in his business, Frankie Manning was right to blame you.”
Xavier Reid: “No sweetie, I wasn’t to blame for the beating Buck Evans received, Buck Evans represents all that is wrong with are business, this belief that size matters, Buck Evans has a job because he’s 6’7” 275lbs, not because he’s great on the microphone or has skill in the ring, no he’s awful on the mic and has no skill inside that ring, he’s just big, he looks the part so they blindly give him a job and then disgrace the International community by letting him have that title, it makes me sick, I just couldn’t take it. Guys like Buck think they are better than you because they are bigger than you, they are quick to start swinging because they can’t articulate their point.”
-Xavier squints his eyes and puffs out his chest.-
Xavier Reid: “Boy, you think you’re tough? Boy do you know who I am? Boy, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?! This moron has a contract in the EWA and I have to us loop holes? He told the world that he was a legit tough guy, that no man could go toe to toe with him, that you would know if you were in a fight with him, well I proved all that wrong! He’s a fake, a fraud! I exposed him in front of the world but still I have to jump through hoops to get on this roster, I took the EWA’s International Champion and but him on the shelf and yet I still can’t get any respect.”
Lisa Taylor: “You think people are going to respect you for assaulting a member of this roster?”
Xavier Reid: “I have backed up everything I have said, I said I was going to win that Underground Free For All and become the EWA Underground Champion.”
Lisa Taylor: “Yet you lost it about 30 seconds later.”
Xavier Reid: “Never the less, that’s not important, that was due to the stupid ass 24/7 rules and J.A. Sawyer wanting to make a name for himself.”
Lisa Taylor: “Kind of like what you did.”
Xavier Reid: “No, nothing like what I did, I had the balls to come out and start the match, not hid like a bitch like Sawyer, I did what I said I was going to do, I won that title, I will forever be the first ever EWA Underground Champion and just like Buck Evans I showed the work what kind of bitch J.A. Sawyer was, I left him bloody and battered just like Buck, another one of the BIG GUYS of the wrestling world, left in my wake. You see if I’ve done one thing in the past two weeks I have shown the wrestling world that you don’t have to be 6’5” 290lbs to be a factor in this business, don’t believe me, that’s fine, go talk to those big morons Buck Evans, Spike and J.A. Sawyer, and ask them how being a big tough guy worked out for them, oh and tell them I said enjoy the break.”
-Xavier laughs and takes a drink of water.-
Lisa Taylor: “Well moving on from the men who you’ve injured.”
Xavier Reid: “Don’t say it like that, these men needed a eye opener, Spike and J.A. Sawyer were in my match, they looked at me like I was a target and why, well because of my size, they needed this education and well Buck, ok it wasn’t a match but he’s a joke and I wanted to show everyone just that, he has no business wearing that title.”
Lisa Taylor: “Moving on, there has been an influx of former CEW stars joining the EWA.”
Xavier Reid: “Yeah, Manning goes out and raids the roster of the CEW but decides to exclude me? Are you kidding me, did he watch the last few months of the CEW? I was the most dominate wrestler in that company, it wasn’t Nick Alexander, or AC, or Jakob Mayhem and it sure as hell wasn’t Buzzsaw, no it was ‘The New Showtime’ Xavier Reid! Everyone saw that but Manning goes out and hires Nick Alexander, Weezle, Chris Johnson and Cassandra Avery but yet I can’t get signed.”
Lisa Taylor: “Well Nick Alexander was a former CEW World Champion, Cassandra Avery was a former NWF World Champion and Chris Johnson was a former HCW World Champion.”
Xavier Reid: “That was forty fucking years ago, they hadn’t done shit those last few years except live off their legacies.”
Lisa Taylor: “Chad Johnson came in and won the Underground Title on the first night and unlike you managed to keep it.”
Xavier Reid: “Don’t compare the two of us, I didn’t need my god damn hired gun to win me the title, the fact that Frankie Manning hired Chris Johnson just shows you how stupid Frankie Manning is.”
Lisa Taylor: “Stupid, the guy became a champion on his first night, seems like a smart hire to me.”
Xavier Reid: “How long do you think he’s going to stick around honey, Chris Johnson thinks he’s a star, a Main Event talent, a movie star, the first time he gets passed over for someone else he’s going to bitch holy hell, you think I can be a pain in the ass, I have nothing on him, and on top of that the first low budget movie role that comes his way he’s gone, mark my word, if he gets offered the 14 lead in some piece of shit he’ll take it so he can add it to his IMBd page. He’s only out for himself, there is no loyalty there, he’s using the EWA to launch his career, oh sure he’ll come back, to promote his shitty ass straight to DVD movie, you forget I worked with these guys before, I know all about them, Chris Johnson doesn’t want to be a wrestling icon, no he wants to be a fucking movie star, last week should have shown you what you are getting in Chris Johnson, sure he can be a great curtain jerker for the real stars, but come on, A List talent, only if they are making a PSA about retards, then sure he’s A List talent!
Lisa Taylor: “Cassandra Avery was the NWF World Champion while you we there Xavier.”
Xavier Reid: “Was I in that tournament to crown the NWF World Champion, NO! She won that title because Nick Alexander and AC cleared her way to do so, she didn’t win on her own merit, no, she won because both of those “STARS” wanted to plow her backyard.”
Lisa Taylor: “XAVIER! That is extremely offensive.”
Xavier Reid: “Maybe so but it’s the truth, Cassandra Avery got where she was in this business because of who she bend over for, if you want to do a story you should look into who she gave it up to to get her EWA contract. You might want to check Frankie Manning’s dick for lip stick!”
Lisa Taylor: “Are you looking to get sued?”
Xavier Reid: “Sweet heart, you can’t get sued for telling the truth, Cassandra Avery is a whore just as Nick Alexander is a dinosaur. Yes in his prime Nick Alexander was a stud but that was like a decade ago now he’s become one of those old timers clawing and stretching to keep there spot as a star in this business. He can’t see what we all see, that it’s over baby! Time has pasted him by, he’s no longer ‘SHOWTIME’, no it’s more like ‘PAST HIS PRIME’ NICK ALEXANDER it’s sad really, but what’s worse is that Frankie Manning is giving this broken down guy a match where the winner gets a shot at the International Title and yet here I sit.”
Lisa Taylor: “You think you deserve a spot in that Battle Royal?”
Xavier Reid: “You are so cute, you got your job because of that face and ass didn’t you, because you sure as hell didn’t because of your brains, HELL YES I DESERVE A SPOT IN THAT MATCH!”
-Lisa Taylor jumps back a bit as if Xavier was going to strike.-
Xavier Reid: “Look at that line up and ask yourself if any of those people can hold my jock?”
Lisa Taylor: “Well like I said Nick Alexander and Cassandra Avery are former World Champions.”
Xavier Reid: “You have a better chance of breaking a hip then winning that match, Weezle is someone I have owned my entire career, I beat him so many times that I started to feel bad for the guy, he wasn’t in my league. I understand every roster needs filler talent and I guess they got just that in Weezle.”
Lisa Taylor: “This is a showcase match.”
Xavier Reid: “Oh yes, a showcase of all the new talent Frankie Manning has brought in, it’s a slap in my face! I have had to sit back and watch as he opened the check book and sign all of this crap to the EWA and I have to sneak into the building to prove that I belong.”
Lisa Taylor: “I wouldn’t call these people crap.”
Xavier Reid: “No of course you wouldn’t sweetie, it takes balls to put yourself out there, Thrax and Jason Xavier suck, plan and simple, Frankie Manning is parading these two guys as if they are the stars of tomorrow, well sorry tomorrow is never going to come, these two have no business in a ring let alone a major organization, and Manning is telling me that I’m not in these two’s league? Are you kidding me? These two will be nothing more than just career jobbers mark my word!”
Lisa Taylor: “Are you more pissed because they have contracts or that Jason Xavier is a little too close to Xavier Reid?”
Xavier Reid: “Oh, honey, lets not kid ourselves, Jason Xavier is trying to make a name for himself off me, X this and X that, yeah I have seen it all before, HELL IT’S ME! The guy basically went on Google and copied my move list, hell he figured it would be cool since I wasn’t on the roster but trust me I have my lawyers on it, COPYRIGHT BITCH!”
Lisa Taylor: “I noticed you went right over Ruthless Aggression and Natalie Burrows.”
Xavier Reid: “Did the word bitch spark the light bulb there Lisa. I know you journalists have been hoping someone would speak on the topic of the new women wrestling men in the EWA, I’ll bit. I have no problem what so ever wrestling women Lisa.”
Doug Neil: “Easy to say when you are not under contract!”
-Xavier looks at Doug who didn’t mean to say that out loud.-
Xavier Reid: “Hey camera man, shut it and make sure I’m in focus!
Lisa Taylor: “That surprises me a bit Xavier.”
Xavier Reid: “Xavier Reid loves the ladies and thinks they should have the same shot I want in the EWA, plus it will give me a chance to use my new finisher.”
Lisa Taylor: “A new finisher?”
Xavier Reid: “Yeah, a special submission hold just for the ladies.”
-Xavier holds up his right hand, he puts his pointer and middle finger together and tucks in his ring figure leaving the pinkie out.-
Xavier Reid: “I call it The X-SHOCKER! You know, two in the pink and one in the.”
Lisa Taylor: “XAVIER!”
Xavier Reid: “STINK! Those ladies will be tapping or moaning. I’ve been with enough ladies to know that once they get the big O they will roll right over.”
Lisa Taylor: “That is extremely offensive Xavier.”
Xavier Reid: “Yeah and so is watching these women get contracts when Manning is still trying to black ball me”
Lisa Taylor: “He’s not black balling you, you are getting your chance at Retaliation.”
Xavier Reid: “Yeah a match against a mystery opponent, trust me Frankie is searching the world to find someone that can beat me, that’s why it won’t be anyone on this current roster!”
Lisa Taylor: “Bold words.”
Xavier Reid: “Fact! I backed Manning up against the wall, he knows he’s fucked without getting the rights to my image, that DVD he’s going to want to put out is going to be lame without me and he knows it, but I’m prepared. You think I don’t know what I’m up against, Manning will do whatever it takes to keep me off that roster, he knows all of these other sheep can be controlled, and he knows Xavier Reid calls his own shots.”
Lisa Taylor: “On that note, many believe that the real reason Frankie Manning isn’t willing to sign you is because of your reputation and the way other GM’s and Owners have spoke about you recently and exclusively to me.”
-Xavier’s cocky smile disappears with those words.-
Xavier Reid: “Excuse me?”
Lisa Taylor: “I have been doing a little research on you Xavier and I talked to a few people from your past.”
Xavier Reid: “You did what?”
Lisa Taylor: “I talked to former GM’s and Owners you have worked with, like Marcus Williams, owner of the NWF and the CEW, who called you a wonderful talent and someone he was excited to sign, at first, but over time regretted signing, he said you were selfish and where only looking for personal gains.”
Xavier Reid: “Yeah, I didn’t hear him complaining when I was putting butts in the seats.”
Lisa Taylor: “He said with early success it went right to your head.”
Xavier Reid: “That’s crap, lets not re-write history where, Marcus Williams needed me, he handed me the North American Title my second week in the company because he knew he fucked up, he had an idea for the NWF but he signed big name guys who wanted to change his vision, a vision that I fit, he knew I was the most talented man on the roster and I proved that night in and night out, he’s only pissed now because I stopped listening to him and taking his advise and linked up with AC, if I made a mistake in that company it was following both of them. Now he’s pissed because he lost both the NWF and CEW and is fighting with bankruptcy lawyer and broke, sour grapes Lisa, he’s just looking to tarnish my image because I’m successful and he’s a dead beat now.”
Lisa Taylor: “That might be true but Tim Weich, Senior Executive in the CEW told me you were all hype and no substance.”
Xavier Reid: “Please, Tim Weich is a bitter old fuck who is still fighting with AC, I was becoming bigger than The Main Man and he wasn’t ready to pass the torch, Tim was in love with the golden years of the CEW where it was AC and SNA week in and week out, month after month, year after year, Tim wanted to go back to those days and resented anyone that was a threat to that, I was a threat to that so he resented me and now is taking shots at me, big man, but Tim is in the same boat as Marcus, there days are spent opening there books and looking at their failed project, they have to sit there and listen to the lawyers tell them what they did wrong, show them that they overpaid their stars and it’s killing them, so his bitter ass wants to rag on me, fuck him, and fuck anyone that believes the bull shit he’s saying. The CEW failed, it should have stayed closed and it ruined both of those men and they can’t let that go.”
Lisa Taylor: “Ok, that might be the case but explain Scott Savage then.”
Xavier Reid: “Wait one second there, I fired Scott Savage, kicked his ass to the curb, of course he’s going to speak ill of me.”
Lisa Taylor: “But he was the owner of Rubber Bowl Wrestling before it closed and he became your manager.”
Xavier Reid: “Shows you what kind of nice guy I am, I took him on, I was loyal to him and he failed me so I fired his ass, nothing he says can be taken seriously.”
Lisa Taylor: “Well I talked to him and Tommy Gold, the GM OF Rubber Bowl Wrestling who both said you were a great talent.”
Xavier Reid: “See!”
Lisa Taylor: “And then your ego took over and you were unmanageable! They said your ego was your downfall and that your assistance to be a top star caused a riff between the two and brought down the RBW.”
Xavier Reid: “That is crap, I was the best wrestler that company had, they both knew it, but like almost every company management had their favorites, their stars and they were unwilling to move them out of the top spots for the next generation.”
Lisa Taylor: “So you, like that you have done inside the EWA the last few weeks targeted and took out the people standing in your way.”
Xavier Reid: “YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT I DID! I’M A GOD DAMN STAR AND WILL BE TREATED AS SUCH!”
Lisa Taylor: “Do you not see what’s wrong with that statement?”
Xavier Reid: “No, I see nothing wrong with that, every time I take out the dead weight I open people’s eyes, I show people that I belong in this business, I back up every word I say.”
Lisa Taylor: “But by doing that you make it hard on management, taking out Buck Evans right before he’s due to defend his title puts Frankie Manning and the EWA in crisis mode to fill the spot, lucky for them they found someone, you get that right Xavier? You get this doesn’t make them want to deal with you?”
Xavier Reid: “Horse shit, Frankie Manning has it out for me, I could have given Buck a hug and I still wouldn’t be any closer to having my EWA contract.”
Lisa Taylor: “Well just this morning I spoke to someone that gave the most damning interview on what it’s like dealing with you Xavier.”
Xavier Reid: “Really, who, who is talking shit about me?”
Lisa Taylor: “Terry Rubble!”[/c]
[color=gray]-Xavier looks at her with a straight face and then busts out laughing.-
Xavier Reid: “Terry Rubble, wow you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for this interview sweetie.”
Lisa Taylor: “He hired you in Steal This Fed, said he was really excited to have to debut but then you decided at the last second to not make the trip to the arena and instead do a live via satellite segment from Canada, said they spent all week setting up and you couldn’t care less.”
Xavier Reid: “Did you ever see an episode of Steal This Fed?”
Lisa Taylor: “No I did not.”
Xavier Reid: “Of course you didn’t, nobody did, it closed right off the bat because Terry Rubble had no clue what he was doing, hell he like Manning booked me in a contract match but it closed, you see he was pissed I wouldn’t come down to the states but it wasn’t worth my time, not for Eric Price and Nic Daniels, and he better be thankful it closed because I would have kicked his out of shape ass if that show would have happened.”
Lisa Taylor: “I am seeing a pattern with a problem with authority Xavier Reid, I am also aware that you left a Mexican Organization just hours before a show that you were booked in to come to New York to take part in the Underground Match.”
Xavier Reid: “Please, everyone needs to get over that, it’s not like anybody but a few hundred people missed out on seeing me, the show wasn’t on TV, it was in a tiny ass hot gym, I was wasting my talent down there south of the boarder.”
Lisa Taylor: “But it’s this reputation that is costing you.”
Xavier Reid: “Fuck that, people like Frankie Manning get off being able to control people, you see they are losers in life, so they get a little bit of power and want to hold it over people’s heads, it makes them feel good about themselves and their pathetic lives. I’m somebody and they resent that because they are nothing! I know right now Frankie Manning is searching, searching for someone that he thinks can beat me, praying he finds them in time because his back is up against the wall, he knows he fucked up, I’m one win away from Frankie Manning having to hand over a EWA contract to me, it’s going to be so sweet to see the look on his face as I sign it.”
Lisa Taylor: “You still have to win that match and not knowing who you are facing until match time puts you at a disadvantage.”
Xavier Reid: “Oh Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, I’m Xavier Reid, I’m never at a disadvantage, Frankie Manning is screwed, I don’t care who he finds, I’m not losing, look at my path of destruction so far, Spike, J.A. Sawyer, Buck Evans, who is he going to find that’s going to want to get into the ring with me and put their career on the line. I am a one man career ender and the wrestling world sees that. Nobody worth a damn is going to want to face me, to risk ending up in a bed next to those three men, it’s a done deal, Xavier Reid will be a member of the EWA Roster come Retribution.”
Lisa Taylor: “Well I have enough I think, I would say its been a pleasure but that would be a lie.”
Xavier Reid: “Don’t kid yourself honey, if you thought I was into you you’d be all over my balls but Xavier Reid doesn’t slump bust because Xavier Reid never slumps, you may have a fine ass but the face is not so good, I guess if I was into doing charity work I could toss a bag over your head.”
Lisa Taylor: “We are done here.”
-Doug flips the camera off and Lisa grabs the tape recorder.-
Lisa Taylor: “You can leave now.”
Xavier Reid: “Does thank make you feel like a big women, tossing me out, well don’t worry about it, if I cared what you thought I’d be worried about this little piece, but I know you are about one step above copy girl, the only reason I agreed to this little interview was because I was told you were hot, boy did I get some bad advice, later losers!”
-Xavier stands up and knocks the chair backwards and then looks at Lisa.-
Xavier Reid: “Trash me in this piece and I will end your career next, got it!”
-Xavier storms to the door and leaves, Doug looks at Lisa who seems a bit shaken by the threat.-
Doug Neil: “God I hope he gets his ass kicked, are you ok?”
Lisa Taylor: “I’m fine, little ass, come on lets get out of here.”
