Who is that masked man?

Development
Group: EWA Roster
Messages: 6
Status: Offline
Date: July 14th 2011
Time: 1:18am
Location: A random, unknown rooftop overseeing the city

“…I’ll see you in the morning, Akeem. Yeah. Heh, you worry too much. I’ll be fine.”

Katterina Wylde, as you could probably guess was on the phone, sitting with her legs crossed on the edge of the rooftop. She was about to say her goodbyes to her tag team partner and return to her meditation when she suddenly snapped her head to the side, sensing that she’s not alone.

Katterina Wylde: “I gotta go…see ya.”

She quickly hung up and turned her head back towards the beautiful view of the city, getting her meditation on. As she sat there with her eyes closed in deep thought, a male emerges, wearing a hoodie and a red mask which completely covers his face. Katterina opened her eyes as the man crept closer.

Katterina Wylde: “One more step and it’ll be your last.”

Masked Man: “I see you’re still as alert as ever.”

His voice was masked by a vocoder, which made Katterina chuckle.

Katterina Wylde: “Didn’t realise the love child of Jason Todd and Soundwave was a fan.”

Masked Man: “Always the joker, aren’t ya?”

Katterina Wylde: “Do I know you?”

Masked Man: “Maybe….maybe not. Call me a concerned citizen.”

Katterina Wylde: “Why are you concerned about little ole me?”

Masked Man: “Because you are a winner, but lately, you have been a loser. You form this tag team with Akeem. Your motto is “Wreck ‘n Rule”, right? But yet you lose all the time. Pathetic. You need guidance, and I…just happened to be the man who can afford such guidance.”

Katterina Wylde: “Sorry, we have better things to do than listen to The Red Hood.”

Masked Man: “Cute…but you need me far more than you realise.”

Katterina Wylde: “Explain why we need you.”

The masked man chuckles, removing his hood, revealing the red mask from beneath. Katterina can sense that underneath the red hood, lies a brazen individual. But that doesn’t explain the mask one bit. The masked man sits down besides her on the rooftop, looking over the city below them.

Masked Man: “Don’t you get it? You’re at the beginning stages of a losing streak and now you’re facing Total Mayhem. I don’t care how well you know them or how much of what they know that they taught you. Bottom line is, they taught you enough, but not everything.”

Katterina Wylde: “I know this. But I still want you to explain to me why you give a fuck. More to the point, I want to know who you are.”

Masked Man: “Where’s the fun in just telling you? Besides, I’m merely trying to make sure you don’t fail again by givin you some sage advice. You can’t beat Total Mayhem with your usual methods. Listen to me and take my words to heart and you will find success against them. Trust me.”

Katterina Wylde: “And if I don’t trust your “sage” advice?”

Masked Man: “Then you and Akeem will just be another miserable failure in the annuls of time itself. A blemish on the ass of professional wrestling. Completely irrelevant. You can follow my words and succeed, or ignore them and drown in a pool of mediocrity for the rest of your miserable lives. Your choice.”

Katterina Wylde: “You can fuck off now.”

Masked Man: “Fine. But just remember this…I’ll always be around. If you change your mind, I won’t be hard.”

With that, the masked man departed, leaving Katterina alone with nothing but her thoughts for company.

Katterina Wylde: “Who was that masked…no…fuck that. I’m not going to say it.”

Location: Same rooftop

The pair known as The Wreckers are now sitting on the same rooftop together, with no-one but a cameraman for company. Akeem is rocking a suit like no other. Katterina on the other hand, is clad from head to toe in black leather. The complete contrast, but both are completely in sync with each other. The pair have their eyes locked onto the camera lens as they prepare to address their audience.

Akeem Edwards: “Total Mayhem…boys, we will finally cross paths here in the EWA. Didn’t think it would’ve happened so soon, but knew it was inevitable. Now while we’re the new kids around here, we’ve not had much success and…”

The Dark Angel places a hand gently on Akeem’s chest, which caused him to halt his verbiage mid-flow. She has a stern look in her eyes as she glares into the camera. Moving away from Akeem, she walks closer towards the camera. Her eyes burning with a deep-rooted hatred never seen before.

Katterina Wylde: “Akeem’s right. We haven’t had much luck since we arrived here in the EWA. But like a wise man once said, “Luck is for losers”. We don’t need a lucky rabbits foot or a…wait. This sucks. Let’s get real.We don’t have a chance against the great Total Mayhem. After all, you taught us all we know, and nothing of what you know. Well, so you think anyway. Jakob and Ezra have been a huge part of my past, not just through Jakob being my trainer. I knew we would cross paths when Akeem and I came here, and no doubt you will hang every dirty little detail of my past over my head and use it against me in the future months. Nothing you can do or say can hurt me anymore. Time was, this timid little girl would live in fear of the “mighty” brothers Mayhem, but no more. Now I have become something to fear. Now I am the true definition of what The Dark Angel should be! You you will be the ones living in fear. Shatter Point is only the beginning.”

Akeem Edwards steps forward, placing a hand on Katterina’s shoulder. He walks off to the side with the camera following him. He removes his suit jacket, tie and expensive dress shirt, revealing his massive muscular physique.

Akeem Edwards: “The war is coming to you, boys. Don’t expect us to be the walk in the park that you think we will surely be. You’re going to be in for the shock of your miserable lives. The Wreckers aren’t here to be everybody’s punching bag. We’re here to…”

The Dark Angel rolls her eyes and again, cuts her friend off once more.

Katterina: “Christ Akeem, you’re a walking cliché. I’ll take you to promo school later or something. Jakob and Ezra, you better hear my words. Your darkest hour is here. I promise, I vow, I swear that we will be leaving with our arms raised in victory while you are both laying there on the mat in a pool of your own blood, and nobody can do a damn thing about it. We will show you that The Wreckers are not fucking around anymore. We’ve been too focused on making a good impression that we lost sight of the most important thing: Victory. And nothing less than a victory matters here. We have to defeat you, and we will. You will both Fade to Black.”

Akeem: “Aaaaand……………cut.

As The Wreckers wrap up their promo, the masked man is spotted in the shadows. He is shaking his head and chucking to himself as he watches the pair as they head through the entrance to the stairwell, leaving the cameraman alone to pack away his equipment.
Masked Man: “Pathetic…absolutely pathetic.”
